Prayers

The Sign of the Cross

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who are in heaven, hallowed be Your name; Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

Hail Mary

Hail, Mary, full of grace! the Lord is with you: blessed are you amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Doxology (Glory Be)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

To the Guardian Angel

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, every this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Grace Before Meals

Bless us, O Lord, and these Your gifts, which we are about to receive from Your bounty. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Grace After Meals

We give You thanks, almighty God, for these and all Your benefits which we have received from thy bounty through Christ, our Lord. Amen

An Act of Contrition

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against You whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance and to sin no more. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered and died for us. In His name, My God, have mercy!

A Morning Offering

Heavenly Father, I offer you this day, all that I should think or do or say. Uniting it with what was done by Jesus Christ, Your only Son. Amen

The Angelus

The Angelus is to be said morning, noon, and evening in memory of the adorable mystery of the Incarnation.

V.The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary
R. And she conceived by the Holy Spirit.
Hail, Mary, etc.

V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R. Be it done unto me according to Your word.
Hail, Mary, etc.

V. And the Word was made Flesh.
R. And dwelt among us.
Hail, Mary, etc.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray. Pour forth, we beseech You, O Lord, Your grace into our hearts; that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Your Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and cross, be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
