Thomas Historical Documents (Search all Historical Documents) This is a superb web page created by a teacher of AP and eighth-grade U.S. history. He has many sources that any teacher of U.S. history could use, including an outstanding index of web pages organized by period. However, this index is activated as Terry Jordans students study each unit, so not all will be active at all times.
The Search for Heroes This web page has information about a number of excellent tapes on various heroes of history. An especially interesting link is the one entitled Forget-Me-Not Internet Cards. It lists the names of children in concentration camps. If you buy the tape, you get a set of cards to give to students who can then research their assigned child. Even if you dont buy the tape, however, you can assigned names to students and have them do the research. This individualizes the Holocaust in a very real way for students today.
