Extraordinary Ministers

To assist the celebrant of the Mass in distributing the Blessed Sacrament in either species.

Volunteers are required to have one hour of practical training and a reverence for the Eucharist. They also distribute crosses to other Extraordinary ministers. Each minister is supplied with a handbook and email addresses for all other ministers. They are expected to find their own substitute if they are unable to serve at their scheduled time.

An extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is entrusted with the responsibility of administering the Body and Blood of Our Lord to the Church. This ministry requires great responsibility and reverence. Remember, we are holding the Body and Blood of Jesus.

EM's must have received all sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation. You must also attend Mass every Sunday and on all Holy Days of Obligation, go to confession at least once a year, and strive to live the teachings of the Church.
