Family Life

Sara Wylie, Parish Council Representative
Please call the church office for contact information, 893-1843.
The family is the first and vital call of all societies; social and ecclesial.
The very core of the Church is linked to the well-being of the family,
and thus the future of the Church passes through the family unit.

Cursillo ("Cursillo" is Spanish for "short course") is best described as a weekend retreat on Catholic appreciation, and how to live and apply our faith in our daily lives and in our environments. A Cursillo weekend retreat teaches how to live out Christianity at home and at work seven days a week.
Please contact the churh office for more information at 893-1843.

Marriage Prep is a ministry serving engaged couples in our parish. Couples wishing to marry in the Catholic Church are required to complete a marriage preparatory seminar. Currently, engaged couples are being referred to the Diocese of Nashville which offers monthly seminars. St. Rose is in the process of reorganizing this ministry so we may offer an optional preparation at St. Rose. For further information, please contact the church office.

Meals for the sick/bereaved is an extension of meals provided by both the Ladies Guild and Heart of Mary. Currently when requested, the Ladies Guild will prepare food to be served after a funeral at St. Rose, and Heart of Mary will prepare meals for new Moms (please contact these two ministries for these types of meal requests). If you are in need, or know of someone in need of a meal within our parish due to illness or bereavement, please contact Carolina Seaver at 217-6805 or seaverfamily@gmail.com

Elizabeth Ministry is a response to the needs of women and their families during the childbearing years. By sharing personal stories and similar experiences, women are able to support, encourage, and assist one another during this unique time in their lives. For more information, please contact, Tina Sowney at 962-9852 or tntsowney@comcast.net

Stephen’s Ministry is Christian Care given to people through people. It is a system which members of the church volunteer to be trained and organized in order to help provide confidential, one-on-one Christian care to members of our congregation and community. We have many needs for care in our congregation and community— people experiencing divorce, grief, terminal illness, loss of a job, relocation, an empty nest, retirement, hospitalization, loneliness, and many other stresses or challenges. Often people with needs suffer silently or do not request or receive the level of care they desperately need. For more information, please contact Mary Sue Dillon at 890-6832 or
Phil Dodd at 896-7555.

Counseling Services are available through Catholic Charities. Jill Hodges, parish counselor, offers individual, family, and marital counseling on a sliding fee scale to parishioners, and, others in the community Monday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00PM-6:00PM in the Knights of Columbus building. Those who are interested in counseling can contact Jill at 427-5937, Monday through Thursday.
