Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry is learning more about our faith beyond Faith Formation classes, by taking those lessons learned in class and reaching out to our community. Youth Ministry is also fellowship and sharing with our peers during fun activities.
There is something for everyone in Youth Ministry: middle school (6th - 8th grades), high school (9th - 12th grades), and young adults (ages 18 - 25). All Youth Ministry activities are open to our youths' friends from both Catholic and public schools and friends of all faiths. The youth coordinate and participate in numerous activities throughout the year. A Catholic Christian perspective will be emphasized at all times.
Youth Ministry is also for those who have time and energy to volunteer to help share God's Word with our young people. If you are interested in helping out, or have suggestions to offer, please contact the Religious Education Office at 893-1843.
The life and teachings of Jesus call us to reach out and serve those in need. Our Catholic Social Action teachings help us to understand our responsibility of Christian witness and service. St. Rose's youth ministry is active in education and challenges our people to live out this call within the parish and broader community. Service opportunities are available to all youth 6th - 12th grade, their parents, and other young adults.
Youth in various liturgical roles, such as lectors, cantors, Eucharistic Ministers (must be Confirmed), and altar servers are very welcomed and desired. As a minimal requirement, it is expected that those who fulfill these roles are baptized Roman Catholics and have received their First Communion. Please contact the Religious Education Office at 893-1843 for more information.
There are several retreats throughout the year tailored for teens and young adults. St. Rose Parish shares this information in the bulletin as retreats become available. If you have any questions regarding retreats, please contact the Religious Education Office at 893-1843.
All Girl Scouts (Brownies, Juniors, and Cadets), Boy Scouts (Cubs, Webloes, and Scouts), and Venture Scouts are encouraged to earn their religious medals and patches for their rank. The Religious Education Office can assist Scouts in earning these achievements. Please watch the bulletin for more information.
Adult Formation
Adult Catholic Inquiry Our Parish program is for those interested in becoming full members of the Catholic Church. The first sessions are especially designed as a basic introduction to the Gospel values and Catholic beliefs and practices. This program is also designed for adults who were baptized as infants or children but have not been initiated with all the Easter Sacraments (that is, have not received the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion). If you are not a member of the Catholic Church but would like to know more about Catholicism or to explore the possibility of becoming Catholic, this is a perfect time to ask questions about Church teachings and what it means to be Catholic. Individuals are under no obligation. For more information, please contact the Religious Education Office at 893-1843.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) Those seeking a deeper relationship with Christ through membership in the Catholic Church are guided through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process. With inquiry and study of Catholic traditions and doctrine, RCIA leads to full participation through the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation) and reflection on the depth of God's love revealed in the Paschal Mystery. A new Catholic joins the Body of Christ in a lifelong journey of conversion and discipleship. For more information, please contact the Religious Education Office at 893-1843.
Bible Study Groups and Continuing Education There are several opportunities to meet in small groups to discuss the Bible and Catholicism. Please read your Sunday Bulletin or contact the Religious Education Office at 893-1843.
St. Rose Spiritual Library The St. Rose Spiritual Library can be accessed from the preschool entrance and is located left of the altar. The Spiritual Library is open during parish office hours. The library continues to grow through generous donations and is manned by volunteers. The library is a wonderful source of information to enhance your faith journey by providing a variety of topics relating to the Catholic faith.
