December due: December 17
Choose a favorite Christmas story. It can be the story of Jesus’ birth; Santa Clause, St. Nick. It can be any story that centers on this time of year. The choice is yours. Cover a tissue box with white paper. Draw five things you wish to share about your book on five different sides. On the sixth side write your name, the title and author. It may be easier to draw your scenes then paste them on the box. Be prepared to “toss” your box and share at least one of the things you have drawn.
January due: January 28
Choose a non-fiction book on dinosaurs. Read the book and make a poster illustrating interesting facts you have read about dinosaurs. Be sure to include the title of the book and the author.
February due: February 29
Choose a biography of a famous person you find interesting. Read the book then present it in a way you choose. You may want to make a poster, diorama, write a report, or make a story cube. Be creative.
March due: March 20
Choose a non-fiction book about an animal you are interested in. Make a poster. Be sure to include the following Name of the animal Where it lives What it eats What are its habits Interesting facts
Don’t forget the title and author
April due: April 21
Choose a non-fiction book on the subject of space, planets, solar system, stars, space exploration (etc.) This project is open ended. You choose the way you want to present the information. The following are ideas, you are not limited to the ones listed. Use your imagination.

May due: May 19
Read a story about people or life in the past … life in the United states at least 100 years ago. Choose to present it any way that you wish. Be prepared to tell how their life was similar to yours and how it was different. The little house books and early chapter Little House books are a good place to start. You might be able to find stories about pilgrims, early Native Americans, pioneers, early immigrants etc. Don’t forget the title and author of the book.
