WORSHIP AND SPIRITUAL LIFE The Worship and Spiritual Life committee serves to foster vital liturgical celebrations with and for the parish community. The ongoing spiritual development of the parish is the responsibility of this committee. In addition, this committee promotes and develops special ministries and opportunities for ecumenical cooperation, understanding and prayer. Information on all liturgical ministries is available through this committee. The area of vocations is also a responsibility of this committee. The Worship and Spiritual Life Committee is chaired by Eva Kubalak and Stevie Lavella. For more information about any of these ministries, contact the chairpersons at 895-3953 or 893-0832.
Greeters At the Church entrances at each Mass, volunteers are available to assist visitors or make our parishioners feel welcome. Altar Servers Children grade 4 to adulthood are encouraged to serve as Acolytes. Acolytes assist the Priest during Mass. Mr. Patrick Meagher coordinates the training of the Acolytes. He can be reached at 896-2782. Ushers Ushers are present at each Mass to help with seating and collections during the Mass. To serve as an Usher, please contact Eva Kubalak and Stevie Lavella. Lectors Lectors read from the Old and New Testament prior to the Gospel. A short training session is required prior to serving as a Lector. Please contact Eva Kubalak and Stevie Lavella to become a Lector. Extraordinary Ministers Extraordinary Ministers, formerly called Eucharistic Ministers, assist with the distribution of the Bread and Wine. All confirmed parishioners are encouraged to participate in this ministry. A training session is required before serving as an Extraordinary Minister. To learn more about this ministry, please contact Eva Kubalak and Stevie Lavella. Choirs and Musicians St. Rose of Lima is host to several choirs. The 8:30 am Mass music is led by the Ensemble Choir and Kathy Quarto. Contemporary music is the focus of this group. The 11:00 am Mass is led by the Chancel Choir and Amada Black. Amanda Black also serves as the Music Ministry Director. More traditional music with a pipe organ is the focus of this group. On Sunday evenings during the school year, a youth choir leads the singing. Saturday evening Mass music is led by cantors. The Ensemble and Chancel Choirs practice on Wednesday nights at 6:15 and 7:30, respectively. To join a choir, you may attend a practice or contact Amanda Black at 895-3444.
