Eucharistic Day

Long before any of us had heard of the pandemic, our Saint Rose Amazing Parish team had conceived of the ideal of a Eucharistic Congress to take place next weekend. I won't go into the details of the grandiose plans we had projected. Of course, when the pandemic did come such plans were shelved. About the only physical sign of the Eucharistic Congress is a note on our parish calendar. We were planning ahead!

Now that we are emerging from our second pandemic spike, I wanted to propose the idea of a more modest Eucharistic Day on Saturday, November 20. There isn't time to do much else; and yet, emphasis on the Eucharist has become our bishops' highest priority in the meantime.

I am frankly still working on the details, but please reserve the morning of Saturday, November 20 for our Saint Rose Eucharistic Day. One event that is pinned down is a talk on Eucharistic Miracles by Fr. Tony Stephens of the Fathers of Mercy. We will combine already scheduled Mass and Confessions with the talk, Adoration, Benediction -- and whatever else that we can manage!

I am happy that we are able to resurrect some special plans in honor of our encounter with Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament here at Saint Rose as we prepare to celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the King next Sunday. Stay tuned!

Mucho antes de que ninguno de nosotros hubiera oído hablar de la pandemia, nuestro equipo de Santa Rosa Parroquia Asombrosa (Saint Rose Amazing Parish) había concebido el ideal de un Congreso Eucarístico que tendría lugar el próximo fin de semana. No entraré en detalles de los grandiosos planes que habíamos proyectado. Por supuesto, cuando llegó la pandemia, esos planes fueron postergados. El único signo físico del Congreso Eucarístico es una nota en nuestro calendario parroquial. ¡Estábamos planeando todo con anticipación!

Ahora que estamos saliendo de nuestro segundo pico pandémico, quería proponer la idea de un Día Eucarístico más modesto el sábado 20 de noviembre. No hay tiempo para hacer mucho más; y sin embargo, el énfasis en la Eucaristía se ha convertido entretanto en la máxima prioridad de nuestros obispos.

Francamente, todavía estoy trabajando en los detalles, pero por favor reserve la mañana del sábado 20 de noviembre para nuestro Día Eucarístico de Santa Rosa. Un evento que se concreta es una charla sobre los milagros eucarísticos del P. Tony Stephens de los Padres de la Misericordia. Combinaremos la Misa y las Confesiones ya programadas con la charla, la Adoración, la Bendición y cualquier otra cosa que podamos hacer.

Estoy feliz de poder volver a algunos planes especiales en honor a nuestro encuentro con Jesús en el Santísimo Sacramento aquí en Santa Rosa mientras nos preparamos para celebrar la Solemnidad de Cristo Rey el próximo domingo. ¡Manténganse al tanto!
