Love like the Heart of Christ

Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

This Sunday we hear Jesus' powerful summary of the law in Mk 12:28-34: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength... and love your neighbor as yourself." Here, we're reminded that our faith must be more than words; it's a call to relationship - with God and with others. To love God fully means embracing His love and allowing it to overflow to those around us.

This message is at the core of Christian discipleship. The true disciple strives for a profound, concrete and honest relationship with God and also for a profound, concrete, honest relationship with others.

This week, let us reflect on how we are called to live out this love in our families, communities and daily interactions in general. Loving God and neighbor isn't just an ideal - it's the essence of a life of faith.

May the Holy Spirit purify and perfect our love to be like the love of the heart of Christ.

Este domingo escuchamos el poderoso resumen de la ley de Jesús en Marcos 12:28-34: "Ama al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, alma, mente y fuerzas... y ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo". Aquí se nos recuerda que nuestra fe debe ser más que palabras; es un llamado a la relación - con Dios y con los demás. Amar a Dios plenamente significa abrazar su amor y permitir que se desborde hacia quienes nos rodean. Este mensaje está en el centro del discipulado cristiano. El verdadero discípulo se esfuerza por tener una relación profunda, concreta y honesta con Dios y también por una relación profunda, concreta y honesta con los demás.

Esta semana, reflexionemos sobre cómo estamos llamados a vivir este amor en nuestras familias, comunidades e interacciones diarias en general. Amar a Dios y al prójimo no es sólo un ideal: es la esencia de una vida de fe.

Que el Espíritu Santo purifique y perfeccione nuestro amor para que sea como el amor del corazón de Cristo.
