The True Path to Happiness: Reflecting on the Beatitudes

Dear Fellow Disciples, Peace,

In today’s Gospel, Jesus gives us the Beatitudes, teaching us a radical truth: true happiness is not found in wealth, power, or human praise, but in God. He says, “Blessed are you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours. Blessed are you who hunger, for you will be satisfied.” These words challenge us because they turn worldly values upside down.

Jesus is not glorifying suffering but reminding us that God is closest to those who trust in Him, especially in their struggles. The rich and satisfied often forget their need for God, while the poor and humble rely on Him fully.

This Gospel invites us to examine our lives. Do we find our security in material things, or do we place our trust in God? Are we living for fleeting pleasures, or are we building our lives on faith and love? How do we use our wealth, big or small, to help build up the Kingdom of God in the realities around us?

As we go forth this week, let us seek the true blessings of God: a heart detached from worldly riches, a spirit open to His grace, and a life committed to serving others.

May the Holy Spirit build in us the blessedness of the Beatitudes.

El verdadero camino hacia la felicidad: Reflexiones sobre las Bienaventuranzas

Queridos Discipulos, paz.

En el Evangelio de hoy, Jesús nos da las Bienaventuranzas, enseñándonos una verdad radical: la verdadera felicidad no se encuentra en la riqueza, el poder o la alabanza humana, sino en Dios. Él dice: “Dichosos ustedes los pobres, porque de ustedes es el Reino de Dios. Dichosos ustedes los que ahora tienen hambre, porque serán saciados”. Estas palabras nos desafían porque ponen patas arriba los valores mundanos.

Jesús no glorifica el sufrimiento sino que nos recuerda que Dios está más cerca de quienes confían en Él, especialmente en sus luchas. Los ricos y satisfechos a menudo olvidan su necesidad de Dios, mientras que los pobres y humildes confían plenamente en Él.

Este Evangelio nos invita a examinar nuestra vida. ¿Encontramos nuestra seguridad en las cosas materiales o ponemos nuestra confianza en Dios? ¿Vivimos para placeres fugaces o estamos construyendo nuestras vidas sobre la fe y el amor? ¿Cómo utilizamos nuestra riqueza, grande o pequeña, para ayudar a construir el Reino de Dios en las realidades que nos rodean?

A medida que avanzamos esta semana, busquemos las verdaderas bendiciones de Dios: un corazón desapegado de las riquezas mundanas, un espíritu abierto a Su gracia y una vida comprometida con el servicio a los demás.

Que el Espíritu Santo construya en nosotros la bienaventuranza de las Bienaventuranzas.
