Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus invites us: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” At first, this may sound like an invitation to step away from responsibility. Yet Jesus is speaking precisely to those who are called to follow Him in discipleship and mission.

The disciple is not someone who carries the burdens of life alone, but someone who is able to share his burdens with others. Mission becomes difficult when we rely only on our own strength, talents, or plans. Jesus reminds us that true discipleship begins with humility — the attitude of the “little ones” who trust completely in God. The Father reveals His mysteries not to the proud, but to those whose hearts are open and dependent on Him.

Jesus also says, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.” A yoke joins two together. When we accept Christ’s yoke, we do not carry the mission by ourselves; we walk alongside Him. The work of evangelization, service, and charity becomes lighter because Christ bears the greater part of the load.

As missionary disciples, we are called to bring this same rest and hope to others. In a world burdened by anxiety, loneliness, and uncertainty, our mission is to lead people to the Heart of Jesus, where they can find peace and renewal.

This week, let us ask ourselves: Am I carrying my burdens alone, or am I allowing Christ to carry them with me? May we come to Him with humble hearts, learn from Him, and become instruments of His gentle and comforting presence for all we meet.

“Come to me.” That simple invitation is the source of every authentic discipleship and the strength behind every fruitful mission. So, then, let us go to Him, especially in the Eucharist we receive at every Holy Mass and also in eucharistic adoration where we meet Him face to face every Thursday here at our church.

May the Holy Spirit inspire us this confidence and trust in Jesus, our sole safe haven,

Queridos Discípulos, paz.

En el Evangelio de hoy, Jesús nos invita: «Vengan a mí todos los que están cansados y agobiados, y yo los aliviaré». A primera vista, esto puede parecer una invitación a eludir las responsabilidades. Sin embargo, Jesús se dirige precisamente a aquellos que están llamados a seguirle en el discipulado y la misión.

El discípulo no es quien carga solo con las fatigas de la vida, sino quien es capaz de compartir sus cargas con los demás. La misión se vuelve difícil cuando confiamos únicamente en nuestras propias fuerzas, talentos o planes. Jesús nos recuerda que el verdadero discipulado comienza con la humildad: la actitud de los «pequeños» que confían plenamente en Dios. El Padre revela sus misterios no a los soberbios, sino a aquellos cuyos corazones están abiertos y dependen de Él.

Jesús también dice: «Carguen con mi yugo y aprendan de mí». El yugo une a dos personas. Al aceptar el yugo de Cristo, no llevamos la misión nosotros solos; caminamos junto a Él. La labor de evangelización, servicio y caridad se hace más ligera porque Cristo carga con la mayor parte del peso.

Como discípulos misioneros, estamos llamados a llevar este mismo descanso y esperanza a los demás. En un mundo agobiado por la ansiedad, la soledad y la incertidumbre, nuestra misión es conducir a las personas al Corazón de Jesús, donde pueden hallar paz y renovación.

Esta semana, preguntémonos: ¿Llevo mis cargas a solas o permito que Cristo las lleve conmigo? Acerquémonos a Él con corazón humilde, aprendamos de Él y convirtámonos en instrumentos de su presencia amable y reconfortante para todos aquellos con quienes nos encontremos.

“Vengan a mí.” Esa sencilla invitación es la fuente de todo discipulado auténtico y la fuerza que impulsa toda misión fecunda. Así pues, acudamos a Él, especialmente en la Eucaristía que recibimos en cada Santa Misa y también en la adoración eucarística, donde nos encontramos cara a cara con Él cada jueves aquí, en nuestra iglesia.

Que el Espíritu Santo nos inspire esta confianza y seguridad en Jesús, nuestro único refugio seguro.
