Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus compares the Kingdom of Heaven to a treasure hidden in a field and to a pearl of great price. In both parables, those who discover the treasure joyfully sell everything they have in order to possess it. The message is simple but demanding: once we truly encounter Christ, nothing else compares to Him.

Discipleship begins with discovering that Jesus is the greatest treasure of our lives. Faith is not merely following rules or preserving traditions; it is falling in love with the One who first loved us. When Christ becomes our treasure, sacrifices are no longer burdens but joyful offerings. Prayer, the Eucharist, forgiveness, service to the poor, and fidelity to our vocation become expressions of our love for Him.

But the Gospel does not end with finding the treasure. Jesus also speaks of the net gathering fish of every kind and of the head of a household who brings out “what is new and what is old.” Every disciple who has found the treasure is sent on mission. We are called to gather others into God’s Kingdom with patience, charity, and truth. Like the wise head of the household in the parable, we cherish the richness of the Church’s tradition while presenting the Gospel in ways that speak to the hearts of people today.

The world is searching for meaning, peace, and hope. As missionary disciples, we already know where the true treasure is. Our mission is not simply to tell others about Christ but to let them see, through our joyful witness, that He is worth giving everything for.

Today let us ask ourselves: Is Jesus truly the greatest treasure of my life? If He is, then our discipleship will be authentic, and our mission will naturally lead others to discover the incomparable joy of belonging to the Kingdom of God. May the Eucharist strengthen us to treasure Christ above all things and to become faithful missionaries who help others find the treasure that never fades.

May the Holy Spirit continue to work in us to form in us the image of Christ Jesus.

Queridos Discípulos, paz.

En el Evangelio de hoy, Jesús compara el Reino de los Cielos con un tesoro escondido en un campo y con una perla de gran valor. En ambas parábolas, quienes descubren el tesoro venden con alegría todo lo que tienen para poseerlo. El mensaje es sencillo pero profundo: una vez que nos encontramos verdaderamente con Cristo, nada se compara con Él.

El discipulado comienza al descubrir que Jesús es el mayor tesoro de nuestras vidas. La fe no consiste simplemente en seguir reglas o preservar tradiciones; es enamorarse de Aquel que nos amó primero. Cuando Cristo se convierte en nuestro tesoro, los sacrificios dejan de ser una carga y se convierten en ofrendas gozosas. La oración, la Eucaristía, el perdón, el servicio a los pobres y la fidelidad a nuestra vocación se convierten en expresiones de nuestro amor por Él.

Pero el Evangelio no termina con el hallazgo del tesoro. Jesús también habla de la red que recoge peces de toda clase y del cabeza de familia que saca “lo nuevo y lo viejo”. Todo discípulo que ha encontrado el tesoro es enviado en misión. Estamos llamados a atraer a otros al Reino de Dios con paciencia, caridad y verdad. Como el sabio cabeza de familia de la parábola, valoramos la riqueza de la tradición de la Iglesia al tiempo que presentamos el Evangelio de maneras que lleguen al corazón de las personas de hoy.

El mundo busca sentido, paz y esperanza. Como discípulos misioneros, ya sabemos dónde reside el verdadero tesoro. Nuestra misión no es simplemente hablarles a otros de Cristo, sino mostrarles, a través de nuestro testimonio gozoso, que vale la pena darlo todo por Él.

Hoy preguntémonos: ¿Es Jesús verdaderamente el mayor tesoro de mi vida? Si lo es, nuestro discipulado será auténtico y nuestra misión guiará naturalmente a otros a descubrir la incomparable alegría de pertenecer al Reino de Dios. Que la Eucaristía nos fortalezca para atesorar a Cristo por encima de todo y convertirnos en misioneros fieles que ayuden a otros a encontrar el tesoro que nunca se desvanece.

Que el Espíritu Santo continúe obrando en nosotros para formarnos a la imagen de Cristo Jesús.
