January is a Special Pro-Life Time

In my mind, January is a special pro-life time. The anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision of the Supreme Court, which removed all restrictions on abortion in our country, comes in January and has been marked by the annual March for Life held in Washington, DC every year since, no matter the weather or the conditions. Until this year...

With prudence, the organizers of the March for Life have decided to hold the events virtually this year because of the volatile situation in Washington. I applaud this decision, even though I have participated in the March numerous times, especially when I was involved in campus ministry.

I think that the emphasis on virtual events will provide even more of us the opportunity to participate in standing up for the dignity of all human life, in particular for the lives of those not yet born. Here are some of the events and how you can participate:

On Thursday evening, January 28 at 7:30pm, the Opening Mass of the National Prayer Vigil for Life from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC will be on EWTN on television or on their website: www.ewtn.com/tv/watch-live/united-states.

On Friday, January 29 beginning at 10:00am the Rally and March for Life will be offered virtually. Please register HERE.

On Saturday, January 30 from 9:00am-3:00pm will be the Cardinal O'Connor Conference for Life for College and High School Students. Please register HERE.

Finally, I want to ask all groups, families, and individuals in the parish to make a live Holy Hour during Adoration on Thursday-Friday, January 28-29. Enero es un Tiempo Especial a Favor de la Vida

En mi opinion, enero es un tiempo especial a favor de la vida. El aniversario de la decisiOn Roe v. Wade de la Corte Suprema, que eliminO todas las restricciones al aborto en nuestro pals, llega en enero y ha estado marcado por la Marcha por la Vida anual que se lleva a cabo en Washington, DC todos los años desde entonces, sin importar el clima. o las condiciones. Con prudencia, los organizadores de la Marcha por la Vida han decidido no realizar los eventos prácticamente este año debido a la volátil situaciOn en Washington. Aplaudo esta decisiOn, aunque he participado en la Marcha en numerosas ocasiones, especialmente cuando participé en el ministerio universitario.

Creo que el énfasis en los eventos virtuales nos brindará aUn más la oportunidad de participar en la defensa de la dignidad de toda la vida humana, en particular de las vidas de los que aUn no han nacido. Estos son algunos de los eventos y cOmo podemos participar:
