We Want to See Jesus

Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

The desire of the Greeks, "We want to see Jesus", lacked some clarity. What kind of Jesus did they want to see? The miracle worker? The leader of the multitude? The Master who speaks things never heard before? The one who gives hope to those who despair? In short, what was in the minds and hearts of those foreigners?

Jesus hurried up to reveal his own identity to avoid possible misunderstandings and frustrations. He also starts talking about his death which will happen soon. For this, he uses the metaphor of the grain of wheat falling to the ground. If it doesn't die it will not produce any fruit.

Only those who are ready to see the Master crucified will be ready to become disciples of the Risen Master.

May the Holy Spirit inspire us with a desire to see the real Jesus, crucified and Risen, and to become his faithful disciples.

Queremos Ver a Jesús

Queridos discípulos, paz.

El deseo de los Griegos: "Queremos ver a Jesús", carecía de cierta claridad. ¿Qué clase de Jesús querían ver? ¿El hacedor de milagros? ¿El líder de la multitud? ¿El Maestro que habla cosas nunca antes escuchadas? ¿El que da esperanza a los que desesperan? En resumen, ¿qué había en la mente y en el corazón de aquellos extranjeros?

Jesús se apresuró a revelar su propia identidad para evitar posibles malentendidos y frustraciones. También comienza a hablar de su muerte, que sucederá pronto. Para ello utiliza la metáfora del grano de trigo que cae al suelo. Si no muere no producirá ningún fruto.

Sólo aquellos que estén dispuestos a ver al Maestro crucificado estarán preparados para convertirse en discípulos del Maestro Resucitado. Que el Espíritu Santo nos inspire el deseo de ver al verdadero Jesús, crucificado y resucitado, y de convertirnos en sus fieles discípulos.
