Remain in Me

Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

Jesus' order, "Remain in me", expresses a clear worry about the temptation of the disciples to stray or to stay in the superficiality of their relationship with him. To remain means to commit to the Master, to live His Word, and more, to follow His example, especially in our relationship with others.

To strive for this radicality, which is a characteristic of Jesus, our Master. He did not opt for superficial ways or stay halfway in his obedience to the Father and in fulfilling His mission. Rather, He went all the way, embraced all the consequences, and fulfilled all promises.

It is possible to see if a disciple remains in Jesus by the way he or she lives. As much as he remains in Him, the more he will identify himself with Him and his testimony will be powerful.

If the disciple does not remain in the Master, in whom will he remain?

May the Holy Spirit keep us remaining in Jesus, the true vine of which we are the branches.

Permanezcan en Mí

Queridos discípulos, paz.

La orden de Jesús: "Permanezcan en mí", expresa una clara preocupación por la tentación de los discípulos de extraviarse o permanecer en la superficialidad de su relación con él. Permanecer significa comprometerse con el Maestro, vivir Su Palabra y, más aún, seguir Su ejemplo, especialmente en nuestra relación con los demás.

Buscar esta radicalidad, que es característica de Jesús, nuestro Maestro. No optó por caminos superficiales ni se quedó a medias en su obediencia al Padre y en el cumplimiento de su misión. Más bien, fue hasta el final, aceptó todas las consecuencias y cumplió todas las promesas.

Es posible ver si un discípulo permanece en Jesús por la forma en que vive. Cuanto más permanezca en Él, más se identificará con Él y su testimonio será poderoso.

Si el discípulo no permanece en el Maestro, ¿en quién permanecerá?

Que el Espíritu Santo nos guarde permaneciendo en Jesús, la vid verdadera de la que somos sarmientos.
