The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

Dear Fellow Disciples, peace.

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, the Most Holy Body and Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Gospel presents Jesus feeding a vast crowd with five loaves and two fish—a miracle that prefigures the Eucharist. He takes, blesses, breaks, and gives, and all are satisfied. This pattern— taking, blessing, breaking, giving—is at the heart of every Mass.

The Eucharist is not just a symbol; it is Jesus truly present—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. He gives Himself to us as food for the journey, strength for our mission, and communion with God and each other.

When we receive the Eucharist, we are united with Christ—and also with one another. It is both a personal encounter and a communal bond. We become what we receive: the Body of Christ in the world. That means we are called to nourish others with compassion, mercy, and service.

Let us approach the altar today with reverence and gratitude. May the Eucharist transform our hearts and send us forth to be bread for a hungry world. May the Holy Spirit transform us in whom we eat at Mass.

El Cuerpo La Sangre de Cristo

Queridos Discípulos, paz.

Hoy celebramos la Solemnidad del Corpus Christi, el Santísimo Cuerpo y Sangre de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. El Evangelio presenta a Jesús alimentando a una gran multitud con cinco panes y dos peces, un milagro que prefigura la Eucaristía. Él toma, bendice, parte y da, y todos quedan satisfechos. Este patrón —tomar, bendecir, partir y dar— es la esencia de cada misa.

La Eucaristía no es solo un símbolo; es Jesús verdaderamente presente: Cuerpo, Sangre, Alma y Divinidad. Él se nos entrega como alimento para el camino, fuerza para nuestra misión y comunión con Dios y entre nosotros.

Cuando recibimos la Eucaristía, nos unimos a Cristo y también entre nosotros. Es a la vez un encuentro personal y un vínculo comunitario. Nos convertimos en lo que recibimos: el Cuerpo de Cristo en el mundo. Esto significa que estamos llamados a nutrir a los demás con compasión, misericordia y servicio.

Acerquémonos hoy al altar con reverencia y gratitud. Que la Eucaristía transforme nuestros corazones y nos envíe a ser pan para un mundo hambriento. Que el Espíritu Santo nos transforme en quienes comemos en la Misa.
